Wake Up, Make Something
In this “techniques” class we will create a still life drawing using a white pastel in pencil form and soft charcoal pencil to create a still life drawing on Mi Tientes charcoal paper. How we are using these two materials together is different than what is usually taught but gives a result of a fully rendered work with full coverage and a complete value range of lights and darks. After learning the technique you can use your own photograph of a still-life setup that you design or a portrait, or you can use a photo that I will provide. In addition to the drawing and rendering we will talk about designing the still life as well as the lighting of it and how to transfer a photo or drawing onto your paper or a canvas.
