Being an independent art supply store ourselves, we love to support small independent manufacturers you can’t find elsewhere. Our stock is based largely on the suggestions and relationships with our customers, what they’re using, what’s trending, what’s tried and what’s true. So in a way, what we carry is a reflection of the community itself.

As an artist-run indie retail store, our approach is a little more unique than what you might find at a larger franchise. We have a small staff that works closely together with one main goal: to offer customer service in its best incarnation to our patrons. We’re available. We’re open. We’re friendly. And most of us are your actual neighbors! Speaking of which, we have a healthy address book of regulars and wouldn’t have it any other way. We want you to be a regular! What’s your name? To give you some backstory, Blue Rooster was born over 15 years ago in 2003 and has been managed by the same owner since its conception. Built from scratch, the company is a fortuitous mix of luck, opportunity, hard work, and passion- the shelves were built, the walls painted and the floors pulled up by the very people who are ringing you up. In many ways, the store itself is an art piece. An evolving organism with many facets that mirror the energy the owner brings to his own life.
